James Albert is a local woodworking artist, who creates lifestyle-inspired designs, living and working in the heart of Brant County, Ontario.

ALCHÉ DESIGN CO. is our family’s woodworking studio with a foundation of community, craftsmanship, and sustainable local design.

Each and every one of our pieces tell a story. From seed to the harvest, our selection of figured hardwoods will create a story in your home. With the combination of modern minimalist design with traditional woodworking techniques, our artisan-made dining tables are made to last a lifetime.

Materials used in our functional art and custom designs are geographically sourced locally to include our value of supporting local businesses. Harvested hardwoods are sourced through local arborists and safe forestry reserves to ensure our commitment to sustainability.

In our 10+ years of creating custom design pieces for residential and commercial projects, we also work on collaborative designs with our clients. When a client wishes to use reclaimed wood sourced independently (for example, from the family homestead or from a fallen tree in the backyard that holds memories), together we create your story that gets passed down. 

James believes in testing the creative limits of woodworking and design. In 2020, James began releasing pieces from his first signature line. Artistically designed and handcrafted, James brings his ideas to life.
